For the Month of February!

Hello again all! It’s been a while since I posted to my blog. For the month of February I will be offering boudoir shoots at half price. Studio or bedroom/bath is your choice. If you are interested in doing Studio and bedroom or bath their will be an extra charge.

For studio I have many different backdrops to chose from Black, Red, Pink, Grey, Brick and a comic book wall as well as many more. If your looking for something for your special someone or just something for yourself now would be a great time to book your session.

This offer runs till February 28, 2022 and must be used by March 31, 2022.

Cannabis Girls

With Cannabis becoming legal here in Canada last Oct it’s been fun doing some Cannabis themed sessions.

First up was Jemma I had so much fun working with her and the ideas she had for her session. Jemma is also a dancer here in Alberta so she was looking for some promo shots as well.

I have worked with Karla a few times now and she came to me with the idea of doing this set for a magazine. We shot the set and she sent it in and we got published. Getting published always feels great no matter how many times it happens. This happen to be Karla’s first time so it made it that much more special that i was able to be part of her achieve this.

Sam i have shot with many times it’s always so much fun we laugh and have a blast. This session her boyfriend came along to hang out as well. We had so much fun doing this shoot and the best part was Sam got a bad case of the munchies and ate the whole pizza alone lol.

I been working with Sam now for almost a year. Not only is she an amazing model she is an amazing person as well. She always shows up ready to shot and have a ton of ideas and is very creative. You can find her on Instagram to follow her modelling work as well as everyday stuff @thenameisroit .

I started working with Aedyn back in December or so, Since our first session we have done 8-9 more. We clicked from the first shoot and had the same ideas we wanted to create. Aedyn is very upbeat and energetic when it comes to sessions and is always on time and ready to go. She is one of the models that i look forward to working with every time we get together.

Time for an update with some new work!

Some of my work from over the summer.

I went to Edmonton at the end of Aug where i shot a bunch of fighters over 3 days. I had the honour to work with UFC fighter Mitch “Danger zone” Clarke while i was up there. Mitch is an awesome guy a 20 min shoot turned in to almost 2 hours of just chatting about whatever.

Up next is Kyla, I had put out a casting call to find some fitness Competitors and Kyla was one of the ones that answered. We shot at SMASH here in Calgary and the location was just what we were looking for old school chains tires and sledgehammers no fancy equipment no mirrors perfect for the look we were going for.

Jalessa is a new model here in Calgary and we had set up a shoot with a couple of different sets we had wanted to do. The first set was more casual with jeans and a T-shirt and then we moved in to our boudoir set. Jalessa had only done boudoir once before and was a bit unsure of how she would do, she killed it. With every outfit change she got more and more comfortable and rocked out 3-4 sets.

Jen and Charlie got married back in July and i had the honour of capturing their day for them. About 13 hours of shooting and spending the full day with them was great. From them getting ready till well in to their party it was an amazing day. They got married in there back yard with close friends and family it was supposed to rain that day but it held off right until it was time for their meal. It rained for a little while and then the sun came out so they could finish the night off out side with a fire pit.

The last picture was done in October and it was with a client Tatiana. I have worked with Tatiana before in studio and this time she wanted to do a boudoir/nude shoot outside. We headed out to Bragg Creek and found a few different locations we wanted to shoot at. This shot was taken by a small set of falls and rapids that we had found. We ended up shooting for a couple of hours before we lost light and it was getting to dark.

 

 

 

New work. New update.

Been a while since i updated my Blog. I’m going to try and get better at doing that. So a lot has happened since i last posted. Many events tons of photo shoots so time to get started!

 

First shot is of Jesse Arnett, for anyone that doesn’t know Jesse is the Bantamweight champion for Hard knocks fighting a promotion based out of Calgary Alberta. Jesse fought last Friday to defend his belt, his third title defence and his 8 straight win. I was very honoured to spend some time with him at his gym here in Calgary Built 360 where we did the photo shoot. Jesse also trains out of Tilt MMA and Bowmont boxing.

 

Second shot is of Jake Peecock. Jake also fought last Friday night in his first MMA fight. Jake has amazing striking skills. Jake and Jesse are both teammates and train out of the same gyms. Jake lost his fight when he couldn’t answer the bell to start the second round. He took to huge elbows from some ground and pound and couldn’t see out of his eye. It was a great fight and imho Jake was winning the stand up where he landed some massive shots.

Third shot is from out at Bragg Creek about 20 mins west of Calgary. The model is Candance. We spend about 2 hours walking around finding some amazing places to shoot and ending up doing a bunch of different outfits.

 

last shot is of Beckie. I had been talking with Beckie for a while about doing a fitness shoot. She is a fitness competitor from Airdrie Alberta, about 15 mins north of Calgary. I went to Beckie’s home and we did the session. I had so much fun doing this shoot. We laughed and had a great time doing this.

 

Muay Thai Calgary

Last Friday night i worked Mike Miles Challenger 16 Knockout event here in Calgary at the Deerfoot inn and Casino. It was an awesome night with 2 exhibition fights and 5 amateur fights on the card.

All the fights were very well fought. All went the distance but one that ended with a ref stoppage in the 3ed round.  I have worked 4 events now for Mr Mike Miles and all his events are very well done.

Calgary Engagement Session with Jayme and Matt

Yesterday i had the honour to shooting an Engagement session with Jayme and Matt. I have worked with Matt before as he a professional MMA fighter and boxer. I have covered a good many of his fights as well as did a few promo shoots for him.

Matt and Jayme got Engaged on New Years Eve and i had seen Matt at an event not long after and we started talking about doing their session. In January it’s not the best time for pictures outside living in Calgary. One day it can be +10 and the next it can be a snow storm and -40 so we talked about doing it in the spring once it warmed up.

Yesterday it was +15 here sun was out in full force and it was awesome to be out shooting.  They picked Inglewood Bird Sanctuary for the location of the session and it was amazing.  Old buildings to shoot by, Bridges, ponds, trees and a walk along the Bow river and wildlife what more could you want as a photographer.

We spent about 2 hours walking around the park chatting and picking spots to shoot at watching the birds fly around and came to a nice spot with a beautiful tree that we wanted to shoot with. As we were setting up my wife said hey there is a Deer right beside you. As we turned around to look we were standing about 6 feet away from 4 deer laying down in the grass.

We got a couple of shots with the deer that stayed around and then went about our shooting and he just laid there enjoying the sun and watching us.

It was a great day spent with some great people.

Last week i had the chance to work with two very talented ladies. We spent about 2 hours or so shooting in the studio and did many outfits with different backdrops and had a blast.

Kidd Vicious and myself were planning a shoot for a couple of months and life just never worked out for us to set it up when we were both free. So after much planning we nailed a weekend and got it done, and i am so happy we did she is amazing. You can check out more of her work on Facebook here Kidd Vicious Model.

Kidd brought along Rebel with her and i’m very happy she did. I had never seen any of her work before or even talked to her at all and we hit it off great and she an amazing model and person. You can check out her page on Facebook here Rebel.

Fitness Couple

Was a great shoot last night with Dave and Brittany at SMASH fitness here in Calgary. I have worked with Dave a few times before and this time he wanted to do a couples fitness shoot with his wife.

Dave is a MMA fighter and his wife competed as a Bikini fitness model so this shoot was a lot of fun. Both of them are in amazing shape and had a ton of ideas on what they wanted to do with the session. The shots turned out amazing and we got the darker look we were looking for.

I love shooting at SMASH here in Calgary. It’s not a gym with all the fancy equipment, It’s an old school hardcore kick your ass and make you puke gym and it works very well for the people that go there. The owner of the gym is Zachary Chalmers and the gym is located in SW Calgary. If your looking for a spot to do strength and conditioning hit him up and see what he has to offer.
